REVIEW: LOVING TAN 2 HOUR EXPRESS

Ok, so if you are at all involved in the “beauty community” then I am sure you have heard all about Loving Tan. I had written this company off completely because I felt like every YouTuber promoted this product and had a coupon code. For me, that was a complete turn off and a sign that the product must be shit. However, this is the same way I felt about Sigma Brushes and once I gave in and tried them I realized how AMAZING they are (they are by far my favorite makeup brushes in my collection).

I have an olive skin tone so I am lucky in that I keep somewhat of a tan year-round. However, I still love to self tan because I feel my best when I am really dark and bronzed! My go-to self tanner has been the St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse that retails for $44. I haven’t self tanned in probably 6 months because the whole process is such an ordeal. I don’t know how some people manage to apply self tanner on a weekly basis (props to ya). When I saw a few people promote the Loving Tan – 2 HOUR EXPRESS self tanner I knew I had to try it. This product cost me $39.95 so it’s actually around the same price as the St. Tropez self tanner.

APPLICATION: I used Shaanxo’s promo code and received a free Loving Tan Mit (or so I thought, keep reading..). I hadn’t heard much about the mit so I thought I would give it a try in order to do a full review. BIG MISTAKE. This is probably the single worst beauty product I have ever used. OK WAIT – literally as I am writing this post I just saw that the mit is actually called the “Tan Removing & Skin Polishing Glove”. Does this mean I shouldn’t have used it to apply my tan? OMG. I just looked online and I definitely should not have used this product to apply my self tanner. That explains so much. I essentially got self tanner all over my hands because the material was so thin, and it hurt when I was rubbing the tanning mousse into my skin (because it is an exfoliator that is supposed to remove your self tan). Well, anyways – this product retails for $29.95 and even though I used it for completely the wrong purpose, I still wouldn’t really recommend buying this product for that price. Moving past that epic fail, the self tanner is a GORGEOUS color. It is a mousse and very easy to apply. It instantly darkens your skins so you can see where you have applied it.

FIRST IMPRESSION: The color when you first apply it is so gorgeous and natural looking (dark, but a “natural dark”)  that I was just hoping it would develop into that same color. There is a SLIGHT smell but it is actually not that noticeable. Once it dries you can feel that there is SOMETHING on your skin but it is not uncomfortable at all. This is probably the most “comfortable” self tanner to wear (while it develops) that I have ever used. I ended up leaving this on over night because I was too tired to rinse it off and the smell did become more noticeable over time.

RESULTS: I am very happy with the results! I can’t believe how evenly it turned out considering my huge mistake when applying it! It’s very dark so if you are naturally fair you need to be aware of the fact that it will be very noticeable! It’s photographing slightly orange but in person I don’t think it looks orange at all. The fact that the color develops in only 2 hours is it’s greatest selling point. I love that you could easily apply this a few hours before a big event and look instantly tan.

I really need to order this!

How did you get it off your hand? I have a funny story I’ll have to tell you about how I learned how to get tanner off your feet/hands!
